On January 30th, Hard Rock Cafe Hollywood Blvd. hosted the 5th Annual Revolver Golden Gods Press Conference. The event was a private, invite-only press conference that included 50 press outlets from Rolling Stone, Fuse, The Hollywood Reporter and the Associated Press, among many others.The press conference included some of the biggest and most iconic names in metal and announced this year’s nominee. The announcers included Sebastian Bach, Zakk Wylde, John 5, Scott Ian, Chris Jericho, Halestorm, Five Finger Death Punch, members of In This Moment, and Dillinger Escape Plan. At 12:00pm, off of their amazing performance at Jimmy Kimmel live the night before, this year’s 3-time nominee Halestorm performed a 5-song set. They finished with Sebastian Bach joining them onstage for a supercharged version of “Slave to the Grind.”Revolver announced at the press conference that Metallica will receive the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement and will headline this year’s awards show taking place May 2. Each year, this awards ceremony grows and encompasses some of the biggest up-and-comers and hard rock veterans in metal today, and Hard Rock is so excited that we were able to be a part of this year’s festivities!
