Limited-Edition Collectable Hard Rock Apparel, Accessories and Live Music Events Around the Globe Raise Funds for Breast Cancer Research and Awareness
Orlando, Fla., May 20, 2009 – Rock out for a cure this September and October by celebrating PINKTOBER at Hard Rock locations worldwide! The 2009 PINKTOBER campaign marks the 10-year anniversary of Hard Rock International’s support of a search for a cure to breast cancer. The month-long PINKTOBER campaign is an initiative created to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, and features limited-edition products, as well as a series of live music and fundraising events at Hard Rock establishments around the world.

Rock the Season’s Hottest Color
Beginning in September, Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER apparel and accessories will be sold at Hard Rock properties worldwide, including Cafes, Hotels, Casinos and on www.hardrock.com.
  • Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER pin, the 10th in a series supporting breast cancer research and awareness, features a gold base with Pink enamel and a dangling Pink ribbon adorned with Pink rhinestones. ($12)
  • Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER Pink women’s crew-neck, short-sleeve t-shirt features the brand’s “Love all, Serve all” mantra as the background for a Pink breast cancer research ribbon. The design is then accented with the words “Hard Rock” and features the Hard Rock brand logo in Pink! ($28)
  • Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER keychain features six charms that capture the spirit of the cause – including a dangling Pink ribbon adorned with Pink rhinestones, a Pink Clef note and the powerful word “CURE.” ($20)
  • Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER Pink women’s v-neck nightshirt is made from a cotton/polyester blend and features a Pink breast cancer awareness ribbon and Hard Rock Logo. Available only at select Hard Rock Cafes, Hotels and on www.hardrock.com. ($30)
  • Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER rocker black leather women’s vest is made of 100% soft pebble grain cowhide. The vest’s back is accented with a Pink breast cancer awareness ribbon, adorned with Pink rhinestones. The front features a Hard Rock logo and it is lined with Pink diamond quilting. Proceeds from the sale of special limited-edition 2009 Hard Rock PINKTOBER merchandise will benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and other local breast cancer related charities, with 75% of the retail price of each pin and 15% of the retail price of each t-shirt, key chain, nightshirt and vest sold going directly to the cause.

Roll in the Sheets
Select Hard Rock Hotel and Casino locations will feature additional PINKTOBER merchandise, also available at www.hardrock.com, with 15% of proceeds benefiting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
  • Hard Rock’s 300-thread-count, PINKTOBER Pink sheet set is made of Egyptian cotton, and features tone-on-tone microstriping with a woven guitar border. Pillowcases sold separately. (Prices range from $50 - $120 according to size.)
  • Hard Rock’s PINKTOBER Pink cotton bathrobe is made from an intense blend of the finest Turkish cotton, patterned with a waffle honeycomb design and highlighted with velour trim at the neck and cuffs. It features a Pink ribbon on the front left with a Hard Rock logo on the sleeve. ($80)

Party for Pink
Hard Rock’s 2009 PINKTOBER initiative will also feature live music events at Hard Rock locations worldwide. Past and present program supporters include Melissa Etheridge and The Bangles.

These events highlight iconic and emerging artists throughout the month to raise additional dollars for this worthy cause. Last year, artists supporting the cause included Melissa Etheridge, Ne-Yo, Estelle, Sheryl Crow, Melanie C., Chaka Khan, Emerson Hart, Amy Kuney and Charlotte Sometimes. The 2009 Hard Rock PINKTOBER artist lineup will be announced in September 2009 on www.hardrock.com. All events will benefit breast cancer research and awareness organizations.

A Pink offering from Hard Rock International’s “Alternative Rock” mocktail menu, the Wildberry Smoothie is a non-alcoholic frozen delight of fresh bananas, piña colada mix, orange juice and Monin Wildberry Syrup garnished with a slice of fresh pineapple.
