Hard Rock International Announces Re-Opening of Hard Rock Cafe Seoul
Orlando, Fla., April 18, 2008 – Seoul will be rockin’ as Hard Rock Cafe re-opens for business on April 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. after a two-year hiatus as both franchisee and company searched for a better location. Located in the Itaewon neighborhood, an area popular with ambassadors, foreign businessmen and locals alike, in the heart of the town’s entertainment and shopping district, Hard Rock Cafe Seoul promises to be one of the area’s leading restaurant and nightlife destinations. The new 11,000-square-foot cafe and retail outlet will offer guests authentic American fare and Hard Rock’s world-famous rock 'n' roll atmosphere in the heart of South Korea’s capital city.

“We have enjoyed great success in Seoul and anticipate the opportunity to re-establish the cafe in this new strategic location,” said Hamish Dodds, president and CEO, Hard Rock International. “Hard Rock looks forward to bringing high-energy dining, live music and exciting entertainment events to locals and visitors alike, with the rock ‘n’ roll passion that has made Hard Rock world-famous.”

Hard Rock Cafe Seoul will feature two levels, including a 325-seat restaurant and bar area and Hard Rock’s signature retail Rock Shop with Hard Rock’s world-famous merchandise, including authentic items, featuring its rock ‘n’ roll inspired T-shirt and clothing line, as well as its range of highly collectible items. The state-of-the-art facility will be adorned with pieces from Hard Rock’s world-famous memorabilia collection, including items representing both contemporary stars -- such as Shakira’s pants and Jon Bon Jovi’s guitar, and rock legends --including Stevie Wonder’s keyboard and Billy Joel’s tour jacket.

Hard Rock moving its Seoul Cafe is part of an ongoing strategic plan to relocate cafes when appropriate to better reach our target consumers. Most recently, in July 2007, Hard Rock moved its Boston cafe from Clinton Street to the historic Faneuil Hall area and has enjoyed tremendous success as a premier destination for special events, while improving the overall guest experience. Additional successful “in-city” moves have included New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Phoenix, AZ and Orlando, Fla.
