"This is a beautiful step towards world peace. By Imagining There's No Hunger, like what John sang in his song, we express our strong desire to bring a world in which children will never again suffer from hunger or poverty. Let's come together and help spread this message around the world." -Yoko Ono Lennon

Greetings from the Common Ground for Africa!

The holiday season is here. Thanksgiving is days away and many are preparing to gather with family and friends to share a meal and give thanks for the blessings that surround us. Shortly after this, we'll head to the malls or browse the internet looking for the perfect gifts to give to our loved ones - gifts that are special and show our love and appreciation for the recipient. For many, this is a favorite time of year. But for some, the holidays can be difficult with complex family dynamics, gift buying that stresses the wallet, and a general distaste for the commercialism that now dominates the season. At the Common Ground for Africa (CGA), we understand and respect the complexities of this season.

Orlando, Fla., November 1, 2011 – Forty years ago, the late John Lennon dared to “Imagine” a world free from hunger, poverty and at peace forever with the release of his album’s title track.  Decades later, his legacy thrives as his wife, artist and musician Yoko Ono Lennon joins Hard Rock International and WhyHunger once again for IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER, a global campaign to combat childhood hunger and poverty around the world.  Dedicated to the brand’s “All is One” core value, proceeds from Hard Rock’s campaign will directly benefit WhyHunger, a leader in building the global movement to end hunger and poverty, and its grassroots partners around the globe in hopes of finding long-term solutions through sustainable agriculture.

We know what a difference our IMAGINE program has made in the lives of children in need via our global beneficiaries,” said Hamish Dodds, president and CEO, Hard Rock International, and Global Ambassador for WhyHunger. “Hard Rock is honored to partner with WhyHunger and Yoko Ono Lennon for the fourth consecutive year in efforts to help break the cycle of hunger and poverty.
