Did you know? Hard Rock has the best burgers in the world. They're legendary. Hence, the name: The Legendary Burger. We've been serving the best burgers around, since 1971. Believe it. Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton, two American ex-pats, craved a taste of home while living in London, so they brought their old home to, well, their new home. When Hard Rock Cafe opened its very first location, in London, on June 14, 1971, they didn't know that 40+ years later their creations would be legendary and considered by discerning eaters everywhere the best burger in the world!

This week, the newest member of the Hard Rock family opened its doors in one of the most picturesque spots on Earth: Hard Rock Cafe Nice. The multi-level Cafe is nestled near Vieux Nice, along the Mediterranean Sea on the Promenade des Anglais, and will undoubtedly be a must-see for both visitors and locals. This new cafe will join the popular Hard Rock Cafe Paris as France’s second Hard Rock location.

The hamburger has long been considered America’s unofficial food, and since its founding by two Americans in London more than 40 years ago, Hard Rock Cafe has served as a burger ambassador – bringing its “Legendary” selection of delectable American burgers to 57 countries around the world.

To celebrate National Burger Month this May, Hard Rock surveyed fans around the globe to determine international burger-eating habits and gain some insights as to why this American-staple has become an international favorite.

State of the Burger – Statistics

  • One for the money, two for the show ... 73 percent of people surveyed eat at least one and up to five burgers per month
  • Cheese please … 22 percent of fans cited cheese as their favorite burger topping, with Cheddar being the top cheese of choice for more than 55 percent of respondents (a shocking upset for American cheese lovers everywhere)
  • International relations … the American burger is best suited for a French companion with 60 percent of those asked naming the French fry as their burger’s perfect mate  (a mild surprise to shake lovers)
  • Buns won … even in a carb-conscious world 89 percent of respondents wouldn’t think of enjoying a burger without a bun
  • Well played … 30 percent of burger connoisseurs surveyed prefer their burger cooked medium-well – with a slight pink center  
  • Legendary griller … 26 percent of fans thought Bon Jovi would be perfect to man the burger grill at a summer-concert tailgate – beating out musical competitors like Justin Timberlake  and Beyonce

As part of this agreement, Hard Rock will make an equity investment in New Meadowlands Racetrack LLC, which extends to any projected future developments at the racetrack.

We also believe this investment would sit comfortably alongside potential projects in the future, such as Atlantic City, in the event we establish a viable long-term entry plan for the market.

Hard Rock and Shakira have teamed up to create the newest Artist Spotlight Series, in support of her Pies Descalzos Foundation, whose main focus is on aid through education. The Shakira Artist Spotlight program features a T-shirt designed by Shakira and a limited-edition bracelet inspired by Shakira. 15% of the retail price from the Shakira Artist Spotlight T-Shirt and 100% of the profits from the Shakira Artist Spotlight Bracelet will go to the displaced children of Colombia via Pies Descalzos Foundation. Hard Rock is honored to help this talented humanitarian give back to the country she loves.

Orlando, Fla., February 1, 2010 – Beginning in February 2010, with the launch of Hard Rock International’s Shakira Artist Spotlight T-Shirt and Bracelet, a “She Wolf” won’t be the only thing in every Shakira fan’s closet. This limited-edition merchandise will benefit Shakira’s Fundación Pies Descalzos, an organization devoted to finding and providing opportunities for children who are victims of violence in Colombia.

“I’m proud and excited to continue my partnership with Hard Rock International through the Artist Spotlight program,” said Shakira.  “With the launch of the Shakira Artist Spotlight T-Shirt, I hope to increase international awareness and support for the Fundación Pies Descalzos, an organization that is extremely close to my heart.”
