We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of artist, graphic designer and illustrator Alan Aldridge this past weekend. While Mr. Aldridge was best known for his work with legendary artists like The Beatles and The Who, he was also the creator of the iconic Hard Rock Cafe logo and as such a member of the Hard Rock family. Mr. Aldridge was hired by Hard Rock's founders to design t-shirts for a local football team sponsored by the original London cafe. The shirts and logo, much like their designer, became a cultural phenomenon.
Hard Rock Cafes around the world are dusting down their catsuits and donning fake moustaches to become Freddie For A Day on September 5! We're gearing up to raise funds and awareness for the Phoenix Mercury Trust and the fight against AIDS and HIV.
For one day only, customers and staff at Hard Rock Cafe London and participating locations are invited to join in on a day full of Queen music, moustaches, Freddie costumes, and delicious Freddie cocktails. Prizes will be awarded throughout the day for best Freddie Costumes at Hard Rock Cafe London, with the event ending at 11:30pm.
Hard Rock is turning 44 and we want you to celebrate with us! Join participating locations around the world in celebrating our birthday on Sunday, June 14.
