Hard Rock Calling 2009

This year's Hard Rock Calling, taking place on June 27th and 28th, just keeps getting better and better, with the announcement that iconic rocker Neil Young will be headlining the first day of the two-day festival. This year's Hard Rock Calling is gonna be off the chain, what with the initial Hard Rock Calling announcement that Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Dave Matthews Band, and The Gaslight Anthem are all playing the second day of the fest.


But wait, it gets better. Joining Neil on Saturday, June 27th, in Hyde Park, will be the ethereal harmonies of Fleet Foxes, the fiery awesomeness of Ben Harper and his brand new band, Relentless7, the blues-stomp of Seasick Steve, and the always groovy swagger of The Pretenders. This year's Hard Rock Calling, the kickoff for Ambassadors Of Rock, taking place on June 27th and 28th, gets off to an insanely strong start with the announcement that, the one, the only, "The Boss", Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be headlining the second day of the two-day festival. And you thought we couldn't match the great lineup we had last year, with The Police and Eric Clapton. Yeah, they were alright. This year's Hard Rock Calling, however, will be Bruce's first-ever international festival appearance and we are very proud and honored to be a part of rock'n'roll history.

But wait, it gets better. Joining Bruce and the gang on Sunday, June 28th, in Hyde Park, will be the immensely talented Dave Matthews Band, bringing the groove to London like it's nobody's business. Also playing on Sunday, The Gaslight Anthem, one of New Jersey's hottest new bands, will tear up the outdoor stage, showing England why they've been heralded as "the band of our generation" by Rolling Stone and why NME called their second album, That '59 Sound, "an essential document of punk rock soul." We're stoked, any way you look at it, and we haven't even announced the rest of the bands for Sunday or any of the bands for Saturday!

Hard Rock International Signs Agreement for New Hard Rock Cafe in the Heart of Dallas
Orlando, Fla., March 18, 2009 – Hard Rock International today announced that the brand has entered into an agreement to open a new Hard Rock Cafe in the heart of Dallas. The new Hard Rock Cafe Dallas, which will be located at 2211 North Houston Street, anchors the Southern end of the Victory Park urban development center. Scheduled to open this summer, the Dallas cafe will be one of the city's premier dining and entertainment destinations, with more than 8,900-square feet of space, including a 265-seat restaurant, outdoor dining, rock 'n' roll memorabilia from Hard Rock’s iconic collection and a Rock Shop featuring Hard Rock’s limited-edition merchandise.

Hard Rock's original Dallas cafe, which opened in 1986, was located at 2601 McKinney Avenue and known for its unique church design and historic significance. After 21 years, the former Hard Rock Cafe Dallas closed, in order for the brand to actively explore more strategic locations in the market. Hard Rock will welcome back former staff members, and encourage them to join the team at the new Hard Rock location on North Houston Street.

"After exploring several opportunities in the area, we feel that we have found the right location for a new Hard Rock Cafe and we are proud to return to Dallas," said Hamish Dodds, president and CEO Hard Rock Cafe International. Scheduled to open in July 2009, Hard Rock Cafe Seattle will be located on 116 Pike Street, less than one mile away from the Seattle Center Arena, where rock legend Jimi Hendrix performed at his first headlining gig.
